2009-2010 Montana Season Preview
The Grizzlies bounded into Big Sky title contention last year following several difficult seasons. They should be back in the hunt this year behind the play of guard Anthony Johnson, last year’s Big Sky Newcomer of the Year. Johnson is arguably the Big Sky’s top player and has a nice supporting cast with sharp-shooting guard Ryan Staudacher and rugged forward Jack McGillis. Low post is a major concern in Missoula, however. Coach Wayne Tinkle needs junior post Brian Ovale to step up. Expect the Grizzlies to be in the hunt for the conference title in the regular season and postseason tournament.
