Tampa Bay drew first blood in this series with a 5-1 victory on Friday night as a 161 road underdog. It has now won five in-a-row to keep their faint playoff hope alive. The Rays are 9.5 games in back of Boston in the division and 7.5 games behind the Yankees in the wildcard race with an overall record of 64-54. They are 31-28 at home and 33-26 on the road.
