Last meeting: New York beat San Antonio 128-115 earlier this month.

The Knicks are still a nice success story even though they are sputtering right now.  San Antonio is the last team you want to face when you are in the midst of a four game losing streak but the last time these two squared off the Knicks ran the Spurs out of the gym.  It is also not helping matters that New York appears back in the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes.  It is only adding to the pressure on what appears to be an improving if fragile team.  In addition to their recent success against the Spurs the Knicks have proven to be a great bet on the road (16-6 ATS).  Maybe they just like getting out of the fish bowl that is NYC.  They are only 12-10 SU on the road though and it is unlikely they will improve that record at San Antonio on Friday night.

San Antonio is enjoying another tidy seven game winning streak and looking to exact a little revenge when the Knicks come to town Friday night.  No team has scored more points against the Spurs than the Knicks did in their home upset of the leagues best team earlier this month and the spurs will be looking to send a message.  San Antonio has been dynamite at home with a 26-2 record so far.  That is a gaudy figure and they haven’t lost at the Alamodome since November 26th…that’s almost 2 whole months.  With their success this season, especially at home, the value of backing them has decreased but they are still a solid 14-11 at home ATS this season.

The current line on this one is Spurs -8.5.  I like the Spurs to win and cover but there is not a lot of value in this line.  Serious backdoor cover concerns.

Prediction: With so few losses there aren’t a lot or revenge situations for the Spurs.  I am willing to bet that after getting dominated by New York at MSG they will put forth a better effort in the home rematch.  Look for a double digit statement victory.
