Could two teams picked to finish neck and neck be so far from that truth? Both teams are playing terrible and the Cards may be the worst of the two after having lost five straight games while the Niners were shut out by Tampa Bay at home.
The upside for San Francisco is that it’s now won two of its last three games, albeit to an equally as bad AFC West Denver, while it took a field goal in overtime to knock of a rebuilding Rams just one week later.
Arizona has struggled offensively and defensively of late and looks like a team that is in desperate need of a boost.
This game is a must-win for both, and the Niners should have the clear advantage with RB Frank Gore capable of running free against the Cards dreadful run stoppers.
San Francisco is definitely the hotter team of the two, and with the Niners revealing themselves to be a much better football team with Troy Smith helping lead the attack, look for the 49ers to grab a win on Monday night.
The odds makers have the San Francisco 49ers as a -1 point favorite with an over/under of 40.
