2010-2011 George Mason Season Preview
With five starters returning, the Patriots will have the firepower to challenge for the CAA title. The key will be the development of depth plus consistent improvement on the glass, where they were outrebounded by an average of 1.2 per game last season. Cam Long returns as the leading scorer and playmaker. He will be flanked on the perimeter by Andre Cornelius and Isaiah Tate. Cornelius led the CM with a 43.3-percent mark from behind the arc, while Tate is one of coach Jim Larranaga’s most improved defensive players. Mike Morrison and Ryan Pearson should contain the inside with Luke Hancock, a major contributor as a freshman last season, also in contention for a starting post position. With his physical stature, Johnny Williams should be a good candidate to develop in the post.
